The short version: Your distilling data never leaves your device. StillCraft has no accounts, no logins, and no server that stores your records. We collect a small number of anonymous usage signals so we know whether the tool is actually being used. That's it.
Everything you enter into StillCraft — your still name, run names, jar numbers, ABV readings, volumes, temperatures, tasting notes, cut decisions — is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. It is never sent to StillCraft, never uploaded to a server, and never shared with anyone.
There is no account system. There is no login. There is no cloud sync. Your data is yours, period.
When you export a CSV, that file is generated locally in your browser and saved directly to your device. It does not pass through any server.
StillCraft also uses your browser's session storage (a temporary, device-only mechanism that clears when you close the tab) to avoid counting the same visit twice. This data never leaves your device and is not used for tracking.
StillCraft collects a small number of anonymous usage events to understand whether the tool is actually useful. Specifically, three events:
Each event contains only two things: the event name (e.g., "jar_logged") and a timestamp (the date and time it happened). Nothing else. No jar contents, no ABV values, no volumes, no still name, no notes, no IP-based profiling, no device fingerprint.
StillCraft is a free tool built by one person. These signals tell me whether people are actually using it and whether it's worth continuing to build. That's the entire reason. The data is not sold, not shared with advertisers, and not used for anything beyond basic "is this tool useful?" product decisions.
Usage events are sent via your browser's sendBeacon API (with a fetch fallback) to a Cloudflare Worker. No cookies are set or read by StillCraft's usage analytics.
StillCraft is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and both pages include Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused pageview analytics service provided by Cloudflare. Cloudflare states that their Web Analytics does not use cookies or track individual visitors. For details on how Cloudflare handles data, see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
StillCraft does not set cookies. There are no advertising trackers, no cross-site tracking pixels, and no third-party analytics services beyond Cloudflare (described above). There is no retargeting or behavioral profiling of any kind.
If you voluntarily sign up for the StillCraft waitlist, your email address is collected and managed by MailerLite. It is used solely for StillCraft launch announcements. Your email is not sold or shared with third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.
If you don't sign up for the waitlist, StillCraft has no way to identify you and no interest in doing so.
If StillCraft ever collects more data than described here, this page will be updated first. No silent changes.
